The University of Mpumalanga is a growing African University. Central to its academic excellence is creating opportunities. The University is hosting the AMESA congress for the first time.
The main campus, Mbombela campus, is found along Cnr R40 and D725 roads in Mbombela municipality, Ehlanzeni district. The Siyabuswa campus is located in Bheki Mfundo Drive, Siyabuswa in Nkangala district.

Mpumalanga Province
Mpumalanga province is located in the North-Eastern region of South Africa. Mpumalanga shares borders with two countries, namely, Mozambique on the eastern border and the Kingdom of eSwatini on the South Eastern part. Inside the RSA, Mpumalanga shares borders with Gauteng, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo province.
The capital city of Mpumalanga is Mbombela, a fast-growing city in the RSA. The renowned coal producing EMALAHLENI, is also a city in Mpumalanga. Mpumalanga has 4 districts: Bohlabela, Ehlanzeni, Gert Sibande, and Nkangala. The weather in Mpumalanga is hot to very hot in summer, especially in the Lowveld regions. It is mild in winter, but can become very cold in the Highveld areas. The beautiful province is a summer rainfall area.
Mpumalanga is blessed with the 4 features of South African tourist attraction, viz, scenic beauty, climate, cultural attractions and wildlife.
Places of attraction include the three rondavels, waterfalls, God’s Window, Blyde River Canyon, Hiking Trails, Kruger National Park, Sudwala Caves, etc.
Mbombela Municipality
Mbombela Local Municipality is situated in the Mpumalanga province and forms part of the Ehlanzeni district. The Category B municipality is one of the four municipalities in the district, making up almost a third of its geographical area. Mbombela was formed in December 2000 by the amalgamation of Mbombela and Umjindi Local municipality. Mbombela is the capital city of Mpumalanga characterised by rapid growth and development. The name, Mbombela, is a Siswati name for “a lot of people together in a small space”. The population of Mbombela Municipality is over 15% of the population of Mpumalanga. The city is home to the Mpumalanga’s provincial government complex.
The city serves as a key gateway to the Kruger national park, it serves as a hub for tourism, agriculture and commerce. The economic hub of the city comprises the central business district, industrial area, and a range of other economic, health and social services. The city offers two big shopping malls.
